Khun, a 4000-year-old handwoven fabric, is not only considered the Holy Grail but also a rare handloom weave originating from India, known as Khun or Khana. Traditionally favored by women in North Karnataka and some parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha regions in Maharashtra, this lightweight fabric is made of cotton or cotton silk, and it is woven on a pit loom, completely by hand. Weaving 6 meters of Khan fabric on a pit loom takes several days, making handloom Khan fabric highly expensive. Typically, weavers use a combination of pure silk and mercerized cotton to create Khan on the pit loom. When a Khan saree or fabric is woven with a blend of silk and cotton on a pit loom, it is referred to as handloom pure Reshim Khan.

The beauty of Khun lies in the contrast of the border with the main fabric, featuring brilliant jewel colors like electric blue, emerald green, ruby red, golden yellow, and others, along with its unique small motifs. The handloom weave using pure silk and cotton yarn results in slight irregularities and little unevenness, giving Khun its one-of-a-kind charm. Care Instruction
